The art of puppetry is an ancient form of storytelling that dates to the fourth century. The rod puppet, or wayang golek, is a three dimensional puppet hand carved and painted with a central rod that the puppeteer uses to move the head of the puppet. Often adorned in beautiful clothing, these golek are original and in excellent condition.

Shadow puppets, or wayang kulit are flat puppets, hand tooled on buffalo hide and painted. Manipulated by the dalang, or puppet master, by a central rod usually made of tortoiseshell, these intricate pieces of art cast beautiful shadows and are wonderful conversation pieces. Original and old.
